Activity:

  • Attended the playtesting session [1.5h]
  • Fixed bugs and issues found in the playtesting session, added more polish [3h]
    • Added damage sound effects when the player takes damage.
    • Player now also has damage particle effects.
    • Replaced default mouse cursor with a custom crosshair.
    • Improved foreground-background contrast.
    • Locked door now keep their color after being unlocked.
    • Added key inventory to the UI (player can see which keys they picked up).
    • Bugs now spawn at a randomized direction.
    • Fixed various issues with the AI.
      • The shooting enemy was too conservative when taking aim.
      • Bugs could not damage the player if the player was adjacent to a wall.
      • A bug could get stuck if it got too close to the wall.
      • The shooting bug could take one last shot after dying.
    • The shooting bug has a different sprite with a distinct color to make easier to differentiate them.
  • Updated game page to display controls and credits.

Total: 4.5h

I fixed all remaining issues which were found in my game and added some more polish. I think I have succeeded in creating what I wanted to. I am planning to keep the game as is, unless I find some other issue while recording for the trailer.

Outcome: attached a build of the possibly final version of the game.
