Activity:

  • Attended the labs playtesting session (1.5h)
  • Fixed all bugs and considered suggestions, and implemented some improvements (2h)
  • Playtested some more (15m)
  • Made a video for the game pitch (2h)

I think my game was quite successful at the group playtesting. I think nobody felt the game was unfair although it was quite hard for some. I tried to balance the difficulty and fix some weirdnesses. I also created a video for the game pitch but I still have to come up with a commentary.

Changelog:

  • The first button was hard to get to. -> Lowered the bottom platforms, so that the jumps dont have to be perfect.
  • The checkpoints were quite sparse. -> Added three more at appropriate places
  • The player could get stuck by being showed into a wall by a platform. -> Added spikes to avoid the issue.
  • The escape key broke the game (UI was removed). -> Escape does nothing now.
  • The obstacles at the bottom right sections were not evenly spaced. -> Slightly rescaled the section to fix the issue.
  • The pistons could be cheated by standing in between of the them. -> Added side spikes to the pistons.
  • Added key to restart the whole level (F3)
